I had the best day yesterday! I met a few terrific artists and had a great conversation with a local Stillwater resident and potential Darn Knit Anyway employee. We also put away a bunch of yarns, which was such a treat.
All week long, people have been walking by the shop…some even poked their heads in the door to have a look around. I am THRILLED when they do this. One particular encounter was especially great. A women from one of the offices upstairs, I’ll call her Pat (cause that’s her name) stopped in. She saw the shelves finally full of yarn and couldn’t resist coming in to say hello. We chatted for a few minutes and she said “I don’t want to invade your personal space or anything, and I don’t even know you, but…I am so happy I could hug you right now”. How great is that? I have been getting such amazing encouragement from everyone and am constantly reassured that I am moving on the right path. Very cool.
So…here are a few of the latest photos of the shop. Sorry for the grainy quality…they were taken from my phone with hands that were shaky from too much coffee!
If you are wandering Stillwater this weekend…stop and say hi!

Rowan & Farmhouse Bulky and Chunky

Still some work to do
So, I had a knock on my door and was excited to find a lovely Fedex man delivering 2 boxes to me! Wow. My Farmhouse Yarns order had arrived! To quote my friend Julie, ”It’s like Christmas in August!”

Farmhouse Delivery
We have purchased Farmhouse Yarns for the shop because in addition to producing beautiful yarns (wait until you see them in person), they buy their wool directly from American farmers, mostly small family farms of 20 or less sheep. We are one of a handful of Minnesota yarn shops selling Farmhouse Yarns. I have a feeling that will change quickly!
The yarns we are selling from Farmhouse Yarns are:

Lumpy Bumpy Charlene

Andy's Merino

Bonnie's Bamboo

Fannie's Fingering
We can’t wait to start stocking the shelves!
Look for more updates when our orders for Cascade, Rowan, Blue Sky Alpaca, Koigu and more start showing up on our doorstep!
